Meet the Team

CATHERINE HERSACHER, President & Interior Design Principal

In 2012, with thirteen years of design experience behind her, Catherine Hersacher founded Bespoke Fine Interiors in Aiken, South Carolina. Having worked for some of the top firms in the country in the high-end residential and ultra-exclusive hospitality sectors of the industry, Catherine made the move to go out on her own and offer truly custom design services to clients locally and nationwide. The decision to be in Aiken, SC was based on finding a balance to do what she loves, horses and design. The small southern town of Aiken supports both incredibly well.  In a very short period of time, Catherine has developed Bespoke into a brand that signifies one of a kind, curated interiors for a broad range of styles and tastes.

Catherine’s education makes her truly unique in the design industry.  She holds an Associates Degree in Interior Design, a pre-professional Architecture Degree and a Masters Degree in Industrial Design.  This background coupled with the extensive experience she gained in all of her past firms, allows her to bring a sophisticated, “big design firm” approach to all of her projects. She values relationships with her clients above all and strives to make their projects speak if the owners, not the designer.

Prior to settling in Aiken, Ms. Hersacher gained invaluable knowledge in the luxury residential design field while working in Palm Beach, Florida. From kitchen design and hard finish selection to construction consultation and decoration, she completed projects with multi-million dollar budgets, including several spec homes for a customer builder.

After leaving Florida to return to the Northeast, Ms. Hersacher joined an exclusive hospitality design firm as an interior designer and specifications manager. Many of the projects were five-star and boutique properties, including hotels, clubhouses, residential towers and conference centers. These projects were located around the globe. Ms. Hersacher became part of the Asia team and was sent often to present and conduct site visits in China and Hong Kong.

With this worldly exposure and background, Ms. Hersacher is able to achieve a design for any project that is cogent with her client’s tastes and context.

KRISTIN AUSTIN, Associate Designer

Kristin joins the Bespoke team as an Associate Designer and is super excited to team with the other talent at Bespoke to create unique, well designed spaces.  With 16 years of professional hands-on hard and soft line construction experience paired with a fashion forward sense of style that is rooted in tradition, Kristin takes her eye for detail, charismatic character, upbeat personality, and obvious sense of humor into her designs.

Kristin began her design endeavors in Fashion Design at Virginia Marty College of Art and Design in Cleveland OH.  After working in the fashion world for 3 years, Kristin and her husband were relocated to Washington D.C.  For the next 11 years, Kristin worked as a merchandising/visual designer for several high end fashion retailers.  Earning high accolades for her visual design work in apparel she decided to make the natural transition to home goods in the retail environment.  Applying a deep understanding for trend forecasting, textiles, pattern mixing, and color theory, the transition was smooth and a big success; she was awarded national recognition for a Ralph Lauren home project where she used her passion for all things equestrian in her merchandising displays.  She used her beloved equine, Hunter, for a photo shoot which became used nationwide as a new in-store standard.

In 2017 Kristin had decided Residential Interiors was her forte! Her vision for her projects is well detailed, eye catching, yet comfortable and inviting.   Since early 2017 she has been helping folks in Aiken share this vision by consulting on renovation, staging, and custom items made by work.  Personally, Kristin started her biggest project ever; a self designed and drawn, custom farmhouse, which is breaking ground January 2019.

BRIGITTE PELRINE, Design Assistant

Brigitte Pelrine moved to beautiful, horse centric Aiken, SC in the Spring of 2018.  A native New Englander and avid Equestrian, Ms. Pelrine choose Aiken for its warm climate, friendly southern hospitality and of course, daily inclusion of all things horses.

It was while her own custom home was being built, that she was introduced to the beautiful stylings and design of Bespoke Fine Interiors. Having a background in flooring and tile sales, customer service and business management, the partnership with the firm was a natural fit.

In her position of Design Assistant, Ms. Pelrine maintains the business and operational side of things, while also supporting the design team by presenting design concepts and assisting clients in final selections.  While she has a strong eye for color and an enthusiasm for textiles and finishes, she remains most passionate about providing top-shelf client care.  Ms. Pelrine strives to support each individual client from their project’s inception to completion and celebrates with them as the design team transforms their house into their beautiful new home.
